When impacting the rock , the piston directly impacts the shank adapter , and the energy transmitted to the rock through the drill rod and the thread bit .

The shape is long ,thin , and reduces unnecessary cross-section changes . This is more conducive to the transmission of our impact piston stress wave , reducing the peak numerical value of the stress wave , increasing the time of the shock wave to improve the energy transfer efficiency .

In the design of the impact head of the impact piston , it is designed to be equal to or close to the area of the shank adapter to obtain a shock wave with small amplitude and stability , which is more conducive to the smooth transmission .
